Editura: CugetareaCod ISSN: 973-95314-6-6, pp. 75-77 Abstract: In the essay The Symbol of Space and the Significance of Setting in Sadoveanu, the author interprets the participative aspect and the gradual intensity of the setting (nature) and of the space (the sky) in Mihail Sadoveanu’s creation, in so far as the nine short stories in Ancutza’s Inn are concerned. Sadoveanu’s perception of time deals not with the chronological ordering of the events, but, similar to the function nature has in its own conflicts, it gives color to the plot, overlaps it to legend or mith, and, in their turn, the elements of nature give definition to the most adequate spirit of the narration. |
